History of Plymouth Bible Baptist Church

This site was originally a Free Methodist Church, which was dedicated in October 1876. The original building was razed by fire Sunday morning, January 16, 1949.

The church building was rebuilt after the fire, and for a number of years continued as the Free Methodist Church.

In June, 1968, under the leadership of Pastor Hubert Dahl, the church became known as Plymouth Community Church.

Succeeding Pastor Dahl in 1982 was Pastor Frank Marino, and the Church name was changed to Plymouth Road Bible Church. Pastor Mike Ridge then served as pastor for one year.

More History

Pastor Marino returned as pastor and served faithfully until his passing on to Glory in September of 1999.

The membership then called Pastor Paul M. Schaefer, and the Church was renamed Plymouth Bible Baptist Church to reflect the Baptist doctrine basis of the church’s teachings and the missions which it supports.

Two additions have been made to the church, an auditorium and a Sunday School wing. During excavation for a new auditorium we uncovered bricks and ashes from the fire in 1949.
